EHL Teacher Training Institute
The American Red Cross is pleased to offer an Exploring Humanitarian Law Teacher Training Institute to be held August 3-5, 2010 in Washington, DC.
The EHL Institute offers educators from across the United States an engaging, hands-on experience with the Exploring Humanitarian Law (EHL) program. EHL teaches students about respect for human life and dignity, ethical judgment, global citizenship, the protections of the Geneva Conventions and the role of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations.
The purpose of this Training Institute is to prepare educators to teach the Exploring Humanitarian Law curriculum effectively in various educational settings. It will also expand public understanding of international humanitarian law (IHL) in the United States. This institute is an exciting professional development opportunity for high school as well as two-year and four-year college faculty, who can obtain 3 Continuing Education Units for the course.
